can you feel the love?Critics Choice - Time Out March & April 2004 Pick Of The Day - Time Out "Playing the tunes that make a great time, from new and future indie greats with a splash of pop, electro, bootlegs and anything else" - QX "New location for the rebirth of this legendary indie night" - Metro Life
"An explosive mixture of underground sounds as gay boy and girl party monsters go on the rampage" "The night attracts the musically obsessed, while maintaining a fun, friendly and quirky feel, aided by what is one of the best truly underground venues in London" - RainbowNetwork.com
"This club is for everyone, not only in terms of sexuality but musical taste
and willingness to dance. Those that want to dance - do and those that don't
just chill out on those deep plush sofas and chat all night long"...
"I can't believe how friendly everyone is here, there isn't any attitude, no
overt cruising, just people having a good time" " The nerdy and indie pop set gravitate to Miss Shapes, a Thursday club night" - Advocate Travel "Wow. Best night out i've had in years..." - Dr Deant on bentpunk.com "I had a bloody great night last night also, even if I can barely talk now because of shouting so much!" - boy_with_the_arab_strap on bentpunk.com "the best most varied suprisingly (painfully so) enjoyable club goin at the moment...cum on down! u don't know wot u'll end up dancing to!" - Homogenised on BentPunk.com "a midweek must" - boyz.co.uk " Why, if anything, we'd rather have seen La Donaghy in the Ghetto, which is where we scuttle off to after her performance in search of our new very favourite rap chap MC Lars Horris, whose 'Radio Pet Fencing' album - the best thing to come out of the usually-indier Truck in a while - has been a major hit in certain quarters of PlayLouder Towers. And it's not much of a search, since hurrah! he's there! playing Mis-Shapes, recently moved to its new, invariably excellent Soho home after departing the wonderful Sahara Nights. Technically he's riddled with idiosyncracies, and his voice often comes laced with the slight alarm that used to be scribbled all over Justin Timberlake's face in those early *N Sync videos, but he's tremendously engaging, and there's a warmth to his join-the-gang minimalism that's wholly succumbtoable. He's got tracks called 'Hey, That's Me' and 'My Rhymes Rhyme', for heaven's sake! We're *very* taken, so much so that we even go to 93 Feet East not long after to see him again, and, even in front of an embarrassingly small crowd, the boy gives his all and then he gives his even more. Don't ever let him be that overlooked again, folks. Could you do that for us? Ta. " - MC Lars at Miss-Shapes reviewed by playlouder.com "went to miss-shapes last thursday (23rd) for the first time since it moved, and thank god, the atsmophere is still there! Great music and great crowd - well worth a hangover at work the next day!!!!!" - Darren on Popstarz.Org "Top night, loads of shouting along to some ace tracks, and drunkedly dancing like a loon on the 'stage'. Hearing Decepticon LOUD was a great way to kick off 2003!" - Intensebummingofevil on bentpunk.com "well it was ace! first time i've been at the Ghetto and really enjoyed it....thanks to Mikey for playing Belle & Sebastian" - boy_with_the_arab_strap on popstarz.org |
